NEIL Warnock admits he thought Clint Hill would never play for QPR again following their opening-day drubbing against Bolton.

The left-back was sent-off in the 4-0 home reverse against Wanderers, and was shipped out on loan to Nottingham Forest.

However, the 33-year-old made a shock return to Loftus Road following an injury to Armand Traore, and impressed in the west London derby win against Chelsea.

And Hill looks set to keep his place for Sunday's clash with Spurs.

Boss Warnock said: “I thought it was the last time he would ever play for me, but he was magnificent against Chelsea.”
