QPR boss Neil Warnock admits January can't come soon enough after watching his side gift Sunderland victory.

Rangers conceded three cheap goals as Wes Brown's late header snatched the points for the visitors after goals from Heidar Helguson and Jamie Mackie looked like earning the hosts a share of the spoils.

And Warnock has vowed to address their defensive problems when the transfer window reopens next month.

“I will be looking to improve the squad in January,” he said. “I know what I want and I'm going to go and get them.

“I couldn't see Sunderland conceding goals like we did, so it's up to me to get people in place to stop them.

“I can't believe we've lost that game, but it's up to me to remedy it. It won't take a lot of sorting because I think we've got a decent side.”

Warnock had hoped to have two or three players added to his squad by the time they travel to Newcastle in mid-January, but he admitted he now wants to bolster his backline as soon as possible after watching their latest horror-show.

He added: “I hope I can sign a player on January 1 and play them on January 2. However, sometimes the positions I'm after I may have to wait until the end of the window.”
