QPR’S Mark Hughes is licking his lips at the thought of a sensational last-minute loan deal for Carlos Tevez.

The Rs boss refuses to rule out an audacious swoop for the out-of-favour Manchester City striker he signed for the multi-millionaires in summer 2009.

The chances are slim with Liverpool also in the running, but Hughes reckoned it would make more sense for City to let the Argentine (pic) come to west London than Merseyside, especially after the sky-blues let Emmanuel Adebayor come to Spurs on loan.

He said: “To have Tevez on loan is a great thought.

“You could argue that it’s like the situation for Adebayor at Tottenham.

“You could have the opportunity (for Tevez) playing against teams that would help Man City win the league.

“That’s the only situation that might appeal to them – it wouldn’t be the money – City certainly don’t need that.”
