QPR boss Harry Redknapp admits he could be wheeling and dealing right up to the last minute for new players before the transfer window shuts at 11pm on Monday.

Harry leaning out of a car window talking to media has become a staple of deadline day, and more of the same is scheduled by a manager with just one signing so far - and that for a player not deemed fit.

Unfit: Mauro Zarate warms up at Burnley

Striker Mauro Zarate signed on loan from West Ham at the beginning of the month, but has played only 14 minutes as a second-half sub in the 2-1 defeat to Burnley on January 10.

Redknapp is keeping fingers crossed he gets it right two out of three after quests to Upton Park. Last season, Modibo Maiga and Ravel Morrison were brought in to shore up a tilt at promotion from the Championship.

The former was a dud, but Harry insists Morrison was a hit despite being dropped for the play-off final against Derby.

Hammer hit? Ravel Morrison and the QPR boss

The manager said: “I thought Ravel did great for us. I left him out of the final, but I played him in the first game at Wigan. Some of the goals he scored were terrific.

"The other lad didn’t work out as I’d hoped, and you never know. When you take a loan, you take a gamble. Who’s going to loan someone out.

"But at the end of the window, there might be players who are available to loan currently only available to buy. Half past five on deadline night, there’ll be players available.”
