HARRY Redknapp hailed his 'fantastic' loan signing Andros Townsend after a top notch performance against Arsenal – but admitted he is resigned to losing the player in the summer.
The Tottenham winger put in a great shift against the Gunners, giving Spanish defender Nacho Monreal a searching examination.
But hopes of keeping him on at Loftus Road in the Championship next season are virtually non-existent, according to the QPR boss.
“Can we keep him? I wouldn't have thought so,” Redknapp said.
“He'll play in the Premier League again next year, I would think. He'll go back to Tottenham and either play for them or go somewhere else in the Prem if they want to loan him out, I imagine.
“He's been fantastic, he really has. A great loan signing. A couple of thousand pounds a week, a kid with a great attitude. He wants to be a player, works hard.”
Redknapp added: “He got a hamstring injury two weeks ago and we thought he might be out for four or five weeks, but he's back playing today – that's how much he wants to play. He's been excellent.”
