Massimo Luongo is taking a long journey back from Abu Dhabi after playing internationals against Iraq and the United Arab Emirates and he admitted it is tough not knowing whether he will be picked for QPR against Blackburn or not.

The former Tottenham man will not have long to recover from his long flights and he described international duty as 'pretty intense', although he is naturally proud to pull on the green and gold of Australia.

Anyone who has been on long flights across several time zones will know the difficulties of jet lag, something Luongo also suffers from but he puts up with it because of the honour of playing for his country.

Luongo said after the win at Wigan: “I've got a lot of travelling to do. It's pretty intense, especially when you come back and you've got a game and it's a question for the manager whether he plays me or not.

“That's the worrying bit but it's got to be done. I still don't cope with the jet lag. I do what I want (at that time). If I'm up I'm up and hopefully I come back all right.”
