Former Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell is the newest face to join the QPR coaching set-up.

Interim boss Neil Warnock has recruited the 56-year-old to help with all things preparation while the club continue to search for a successor to sacked Chris Ramsey.

Blackwell has been out of work since he was given the boot at Bury in October, 2013. But the hint from Warnock is he could be around a bit longer than anticipated - hence the need for Blackwell, who had managerial stints at Luton and Sheffield United as well as Bury and Leeds.

Help: Neil Warnock

He previously worked with Warnock at Huddersfield Town, Plymouth Argyle, Bury and Sheffield United

“I know how Kevin works, he is very good on the training field and will provide me with an extra pair of eyes,” Warnock told the club website.

“I have spoken with Les Ferdinand, (QPR's director of football), and I have to operate as the head coach - for however long that might be.

“When you look at the fixtures coming up, I don’t think anyone will be rushing in to take over for those. We’ve got to embrace it, and give it our best shot.”
