Players from newly promoted clubs can offer fantasy football managers plenty of bang for their buck.

Just look at Odion Ighalo last season.

The Watford striker scored 15 goals in his first Premier League season, the joint seventh highest total along with Jermain Defoe and only one fewer than Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud.

Ighalo scored 20 in 35 Championship games for the Hornets the season before though, so perhaps his goal scoring feats shouldn’t have come as a surprise.

With that in mind Get West London have taken a look at the top performing players from Burnley, Hull and Middlesbrough to see if there may be any bargains amongst their ranks.

Goals

Strikeman: Abel Hernandez scores for Hull City

Andre Gray is the undoubted goalscoring star of the players coming up from the Championship this season.

The Burnley frontman scored 25 goals in 43 league appearances in 2015-16, an average of 0.6 per game, more than any player to have made a least 20 appearances in the league last season.

Priced at just £6.2m Gray is only the 64th most expensive forward on the Fantasy iTeam game. He’s actually slightly cheaper than the next two top goalscorers to have come up from the Championship.

Hull City’s Abel Hernandez scored 20 goals in 39 appearances, an average of 0.5 a game. That’s the second best ratio of a player to have won promotion last season. Hernandez is priced at £6.4m on Fantasy iTeam.

Sam Vokes has the next best goals per game ratio with an average of 0.3 a game and is also priced at £6.4m.

Assists

International stage: Scotland's Robert Snodgrass

Robert Snodgrass made six assists for Hull in the Championship last season, an average of 0.3 a game which is a better ratio than any other player to have played at least 20 times last season. He could be a snip at £5.7m then, particularly when you consider that his last spell in the Premier League saw his score 12 goals and assist a further 10 in just 68 matches.

Andre Gray has the next best assist record.

The striker set up 10 goals for his Burnley and Brentford teammates, an average of 0.2 a game.

That’s the same ratio as six other players managed, though none of them managed as many as Gray.

David Nugent and Samuel Clucas both assisted eight goals each. George Boyd and David Jones assisted seven, while George Friend assisted six and Stephen Ward assisted four.
