FORMER Fulham defender Gabriel Zakuani admits Saturday's drubbing left him with egg on his face.

The Peterborough centre-half had vowed to 'go through the back' of pal Diomansy Kamara and also do a job on old team-mate Clint Dempsey in an interview with the Chronicle before the game.

Zakuani earned himself a booking for scything down Dempsey early on, but couldn't get close to Kamara as the Senegalese striker smashed his first hat-trick for the club in the 6-2 romp .

"I said I would kick one of them and I did," he said.

"Joe did well. His movement is different class and he was undefendable at times.

"Those goals will do him the world of good for his confidence to take into the rest of the season."
