Chelsea hotshot Dominic Solanke trained with the England squad this morning after being named Young Player of the Year by Three Lions coaches.
The 17-year-old striker received his gong before the session at St George's Park as Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney picked up the senior accolade.
England manager Roy Hodgson drafted in the Blues youngster after a wave of withdrawals from the group at Burton this week.
Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge, himself a former Chelsea player, pulled out last night and Solanke stepped in to fill the void on the training pitch.
Adam Lallana also pulled out yesterday while United midfielder Michael Carrick was only fit enough to do some gym work and not take part in the full session.
He was joined inside by Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka and James Milner. Jordan Henderson was also expected to sit out some of the exercises.
Aston Villa’s Fabian Delph is suffering with a sickness bug and is yet to link up with the Three Lions camp ahead of games with Lithuania and Italy.
