Hayes & Yeading’s season so far has been one to forget quickly but a positive came their way on Saturday as they saw off Sutton United in a 1-0 win at The Borough Sports Ground.

Caretaker manager Tristan Lewis guided his side to their first win since the start of the New Year in the Conference South.

Adam Everitt scored the only goal of the game in the early stages of the second half, while the hosts went down to ten-men in the later stages after Shaun Cooper received a second yellow card of the game.

Lewis said: "It was a confidence boost for everybody included in the club.

"We are fully aware the supporters have had a hard time and we have to put a smile on their faces.

"Points are what we need, and if we can do that for another nine games we’ll survive.”
