Lyle Taylor and Adebayo Akinfenwa stole the headlines as underdogs AFC Wimbledon beat Plymouth to continue their fairy-tale rise up football’s pyramid with Dons fans thoroughly enjoying the day and you can see the pictures.

Just 14 years after their formation the Dons are promoted for the sixth time after Taylor’s 23rd of the season and Akinfenwa’s stoppage-time penalty sent their devoted fans into raptures.

Taylor, shackled for most of the game showed 11 minutes from time when you need a goal-scorer he is the man to call for as he gobbled up his first real chance on goal.

Neal Ardley said afterwards: “I’ve got to try and get a part in the movie now.

“Before the game it was about expecting what’s going to happen - we had to get ourselves ready for all scenarios possible.

“There were going to be nerves, we were going to be frustrated, but it was all about what our jobs were.

“We have got unbelievable legs, Reeves can run anyone into the ground. We knew the longer the game went on, the better we would get.

“I’m looking forward to playing in League One, and playing better footballing teams.

“The MK Dons games are two games in a season, it was inevitable if we continued our success that our paths would cross.

“They will have an edge in them, there’s no doubt about that.”
