It was a game where the score-line was never really going to be the key focus, as a game of 120 minutes and a total of 45 players took to the field in surprisingly feisty match at the ABAX Stadium.

We take a look at how the QPR squad fared in their 4-2 victory against League One side, Peterborough United.

First 11

Alex Smithies – 7

Had very few saves to make but commanded his area well and swept up what was needed.

James Perch – 7

An assured display. Did what was asked of him defensively but rarely threatened going forward.

Nedum Onuoha – 7

A solid display from big Ned. Brought the ball out of defence well and led by example.

Joel Lynch – 6

Looked dominant but appeared reckless going into tackles as he scrapped with Ricky Miller.

Jake Bidwell – 6

An average display. Allowed the Posh too much space at times putting his team under pressure.

Josh Scowen – 8

A tidy display. Happy to put his foot in where it hurts but also a smart passer of the ball. More than happy to join the attack and provide a goal-scoring threat.

Ryan Manning – 6

A difficult display for the youngster. Struggled to control the game lost the midfield runner on a number of occasions.

Jamie Mackie – 8

A livewire. A typical workman-like display and got his reward when he bundled in the opener.

Yeni Ngbakoto – 8

An impressive display. Looked a real threat as he shadowed Matt Smith up front, and could have had a number of assists with his threatening dead-ball delivery.

Conor Washington – 7

Looked lively and showed a great first touch at times. Just lacking that final ball and quick-thinking to cause a real threat.

Matt Smith – 7

Looked a powerful presence but missed two excellent chances in the first period. Will need to brush up on his finishing ahead of the new season.

Second 11

Matt Ingram - 6

Couldn't have done much with two goals he conceded early-on in the third quarter, but regrouped well.

Jack Robinson - 7

Grew into the second half after a shaky start. Took his goal particularly well.

Idrissa Sylla - 6

A very static display from the front man. Looked isolated up front with the supporting players not getting close enough to support.

Ebere Eze - 8

Looked lively when he got on the ball. Missed a good chance but made up for it with a cool finish to make it 3-2.

Charlie Owens - 7

Looked confident in possession and made a good partnership with Borysiuk in the engine room. Took his goal extremely well.

Nikko Hamalainen - 7

Looked relatively strong alongside new recruit Giles Philips. Will be hoping to have done enough to warrant more game time this seaosn.

Giles Philips - 7

The American youngster looked relatively solid on his debut for QPR. Was put under pressure by a high-energy Posh attack but coped well enough.

Darnell Furlong – 6

A shaky start giving away a penalty within a few minutes of coming on.

Reece Grego-Cox - 7

Had a quiet first 30 minutes but came to life in the final quarter. His pace and trickery could be a real asset this season as he showed in creating Charlie Owen's goal.

Ariel Borysiuk - 7

A solid display from the central midfielder. Looked a little rusty after returning to training this week but this 60 minutes will have done him the world of good.

Pawel Wszolek – 7

Introduced in the second quarter to replace Conor Washington. Looked lively as he drove for the byline whenever he got the ball.

Ilias Chair - 6

Showed some neat touches in the final third and looked keen to make something happen.
