Daniel Parejo has had his loan spell at QPR cut short after 18 appearances for the Hoops and is back with Real Madrid.

The 19-year-old was unveiled amid great fanfare by Flavio Briatore at the start of the season, but the teenager has struggled to adapt to Championship football and failed to score.

Madrid activated a right to recall him, Rangers said yesterday (Wednesday).

QPR head coach Paulo Sousa said: "We have a very good working relationship with (Madrd president) Mr Ramon Calderon at Real Madrid and we are very grateful to them for allowing us to take Daniel on loan in the first place.

"He is a player of great potential and I am sure that with a good professional attitude, he has the talent to achieve at the very highest level."
