Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns ahead of tomorrow’s long trip to Sunderland.

There had been murmurs that Diego Costa had picked up another knock in the midweek Champions League thrashing of Schalke.

However, the Spanish international striker will keep his place for the game at the Stadium of Light and Jose Mourinho confirmed Nathan Ake remains the only absentee.

Man at the top: Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho

Mourinho said: “It’s difficult to say why we have few injuries. We struggle to keep them fit. We try our best. I think it’s a bit of everything.”

“For us every competition is important, so we don’t rest players and we try to play with our best team.

“Every player in my squad is fantastic and I’m so happy with all of them. The only risk we don’t have is complacency.

Young gun: Nathan Ake is injured

“My untouchables are the ones who aren’t playing, they are responsible for what we are doing. They are all ready to help.”

Costa has been in stunning form since joining from Atletico Madrid in the summer but Mourinho declined to enter the debate over who is the Premier League’s top marksman.

“I am not in favour of this kind of situation,” he added.

Top striker: Diego Costa

“In some cases it looks like we're doing a political campaign and I don't think it's a good way.

“Is he a top striker? Yes he is.”
