All eyes will be on the fortunes of Diego Costa and Zlatan Ibrahimovic when Chelsea host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last 16 second leg tonight.

The 26-year-old Spanish striker has scored 17 goals for the Blues this season, with his strike in the Capital One Cup final credited as a Kyle Walker own goal.

Incredibly, all of those have come in the Premier League and he is yet to score in cup competitions so far this campaign, something Costa is determined to rectify.

In three games, Ibrahimovic has scored twice in the competition this season and has created more chances than Costa.

While the Chelsea frontman hashad more successful dribbles and is fouled more, he is not as good in the air as Ibrahimovic and the infographic below shows how the pair compare.

Dangermen: Diego Costa and Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Ahead of the game, Laurent Blanc looked to play mind games with Costa and manager Jose Mourinho.

He said: “He's a boy who loves the contact, loves the duels, and is very suited to the English game. He likes the challenge, the contact, and provoking opposition players.

“That's something he needs. He thrives off that. It's important not to get caught up in that. I watched the game against Totteham and, right from the start, he was looking to do that.

“So the centre-backs playing around him have to be effective in stopping him. He's got good physicality, is technically good, but he tries to provoke a reaction.

“Always. Away from home, we have to be as effective as possible in trying to stop him.”

Threat: Paris St Germain's Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Ibrahimovic, on the other hand, is a divisive figure in France and Blaise Matuidi was questioned whether the Swedish international was less effective in Europe.

The midfielder denied this, saying: “No, not at all. He's an important player for us, a world-class player who proves that on a daily basis.

“We need a player like Zlatan in this sort of game. I hope for the good of PSG he is able to score and make an impact because, if he does, we'll stand a better chance of getting through.”

Blanc believes that Chelsea's defenders will not be looking forward to a tussle with the striker, who has reputation of going missing in the big games.

The PSG boss said: “With Zlatan, whoever plays at centre-back – Zouma or Cahill – the good news for PSG is Zlatan will play.

“Neither will be happy to face him. He's someone who loves the big occasion, and can score at any time against any opponent. He'll be a very important player for us tomorrow night.”
