Brentford claimed a richly deserved 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest in a game that was, in truth, more comfortable than the score suggests.

The Bees took the lead in the first half through Lasse Vibe after a counter attack from a home corner with Jota providing the assist.

The Dane doubled the advantage after half time after finishing off a fine 60-yard run from Sergi Canos through the midfield.

Vibe turned provider soon after when he laid in the Spaniard to make it 3-0 and seemingly wrap up the points.

Florian Jozefzoon

Dean Smith clearly felt the game was over as a contest and withdraw Vibe, Jota and Nico Yennaris in the closing stages, bringing on Justin Shaibu, Florian Jozefzoon and Reece Cole with the latter making his Brentford debut.

Forest, though, hit back through Ben Brereton and then narrowed it further to 3-2 when Zach Clough found the net.

Brentford, though, held on to claim a richly deserved victory and there was a string of positive comments flowing on social media, with several congratulating Cole on his debut.

Here is a selection of tweets from players and staff after the victory.
