With the Telegraph launching their fantasy football Championship edition Get West London have taken a look through the stats to see which players might be worth a look for fantasy managers.

While points are counted for FA Cup games we’ve not included these due to progress in the competition being subject to a certain extent to the luck of the draw.

Today, we take a look at the best strikers to take a punt on...

STRIKERS

Leeds United's Chris Wood

As it stands, only three of last season’s top five scoring forwards will still be in the Championship next season - Chris Wood, Jonathan Kodjia and Yann Kermorgant.

Wood scored the most out of those two with 27 league goals to Kermorgant and Kodjia’s 19.

The Leeds striker is the second most expensive player on the game though at £6.9m, while Kodjia is the third most at £6.8m and Kermorgant the joint fourth most at £6.5m.

Chris Wood also got four assists last season which means he would have scored more goal and assist bonus points (147) than any other Championship player.

Britt Assombalonga

New Middlesbrough signing Britt Assombalonga is the most expensive player on the game at £7.0m.

He may have only scored 14 goals last time around (from 32 appearances) but did so with Nottingham Forest who finished in 21st.

He may be in line to score far more this time around though, having moved to Garry Monk’s promotion-chasing side.

Another new signing to keep an eye out for is Preston’s Sean Maguire who scored 20 goals in 21 appearances in the League of Ireland last season. He’s available for just £3.9m.

Burton Albion’s new forward, Liam Boyce, scored 23 goals in 34 games in the Scottish Premiership last season and is priced at £4.4m.

Sunderland have signed James Vaughan who scored 24 goals in 37 League One games last season (£4.3m).

Billy Sharp was the top scorer in that division last season with 30 goals for newly promoted side Sheffield United. He’s available for £6.2m.
