Nico Yennaris is happy Dean Smith is bringing him on to play a part in Brentford's attacking midfield three, where he has appeared as a substitute in the Bees' last two home games.

The utility man has impressed at right back this season, but Maxime Colin his usurped his role since Christmas.

The former Arsenal man, though, is happy to do whatever Dean Smith asks of him and he's more than happy to be in the middle of the park.

He said: “Everyone knows I play for the team and will play where I get asked to play. It's nice to be in the attacking third. I'm enjoying my time on the pitch.

“I've played in midfield growing up and can do the job at right back. If I'm playing midfield now, I'm happy.”

Yennaris had a chance to score a late winner against Leeds but chose to pass to Marco Djuricin, whose miscontrol led to the opportunity being wasted.

Set-up: Marco Djuricin.

And he is keen to get his name on the scoresheet for the first time with the club.

He added: “I'm keen to get my first goal for the club. Maybe I should have had a shot but felt it was better to pass to Marco (Djuricin).”

There are no hard feelings though from Yennaris to Colin as the Frenchman has impressed in the right back slot that was his during his injury.

The utility man explained: “He's come in and done very well when he's played after his injury. When you have a big squad you're able to rotate. Fair dos to him.”
