Brentford rounded off their home campaign at Griffin Park with a resounding 3-0 win over Fulham.

Sam Saunders and Scott Hogan found the net inside the first six minutes to give the home side a fine start to proceedings.

Scott Hogan added his second and Brentford's third late in the first half and the home side cruised through the second with an experimental formation.

Field of Dreams

Applause: Dean Smith

Tom Field made his debut after Jake Bidwell's injury and he had a dream start to life in the first team.

The 19-year-old left back won the ball from Jazz Richards before laying off Sergi Canos with the Spaniard teeing up Sam Saunders for the opener.

It was even better for the debutant as his corner was rifled home from close range by Scott Hogan to make it 3-0.

Of course, there is still room for improvement but a future star has been born.

Brilliant Barbet

Yoann Barbet and Lex Immers

Yoann Barbet loves a slide tackle and he produced the best of the lot in the second half.

Moussa Dembele raced through on goal and looked to be making it 3-1 but the Frenchman nipped in with a slide tackle to take the ball away and then got up and guided the ball away.

After a slow start in red and white stripes, Barbet has come into his own and means that James Tarkowski has not been missed.

Heroic Hogan

Aim, fire: Scott Hogan for 2-0

Scott Hogan wanted to score five goals this season for the Bees and he reached that mark with two first-half goals.

The striker has been on the pitch for 93 minutes all campaign, after returning from an anterior cruciate ligament injury and notched the goals up in that time.

With a full pre-season behind him, Hogan will be Brentford's player to watch next season.

Super Saunders

Goal! Sam Saunders scores Brentford's opener

Sam Saunders' opening goal was a joy to behold as he chipped Bettinelli in the opening exchanges.

After coming through his own injury nightmares Saunders has stepped up to the Championship challenge.

Saunders didn't stop running all game and was back helping out his defence as well.

Smith's experiments

Battle: Maxime Colin (L) takes on Ross McCormack

Much of Dean Smith's line-up was forced due to injuries and with Hogan needing time to get fully up to speed, a substitution was always inevitable.

Sergi Canos went up front on his own following the change and showed inexperience at times in the position, although a constant thorn in the Fulham defence's side while Andy Gogia showed some promise after coming on.

Jack O'Connell stepped up at left back after Field was taken off due to injury.
