QPR boss Harry Redknapp has slapped a £2million loan fee on Loic Remy – although the club would prefer to sell him for the £8m they paid Marseilles in January.

The striker is reported to have Newcastle and Spurs as suitors, but if a permanent deal can’t be done, Harry will take a quarter of the price for the time being.

“If someone wants to loan him or buy him, they’ve got to pay the going price because he’s a top class player - and £2m is a quarter of his four-year contract,” said the manager.

Any move for the Frenchman also carries the caveat of a rape allegation hanging over his head, which Remy denies, with a hearing set for September.
