Andreas Bjelland, Josh McEachran and Stuart Dallas could make their first appearances for Brentford when they travel to Boreham Wood on Sunday (kick off 3pm).
The Northern Irishman had an extended break after being on international duty, where he scored his first goal for his country, whereas Bjelland and McEachran both joined the club after pre-season training began.
However, the remaining members of the squad played their part in a 3-0 win over SC Farense last night after 10 days away in Portugal for a training camp.
“The training camp has been very good,” head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen told the club’s official website. “This is a bit like paradise, I have enjoyed it.
“The organisation around the team has been very good and the players have put a lot of effort in. The food is good, the weather is good, and there is nothing to complain about.
“We are not ready for the season yet, we have players come to the camp late and they have not trained much so they did not play today. We have a good squad and we will be okay.
Dijkhuizen is happy with how his Brentford side are progressing in pre-season but they are not at the levels he needs them to be in order to take on Ipswich in the opening league game.
He added: “The players showed they wanted to be in the match day squad. All players knew they had 45 minutes and gave more energy to the game.

“We got a good result, maybe it could have been more but it was not bad.
“It was a good performance, we got no injuries, we scored some good goals. There was good attacking, defensive organisation was sometimes good but sometimes I wasn’t satisfied.
“I saw some things we need to improve and that is good. We can use the video and that is better than just talking. I want the opinion of the players as well.”
