Bees boss Andy Scott kept good to his word of cutting down on the triallists in Brentford's first friendly of the season.

Former Staines Town striker Kezie Ibe and ex-Northampton left-back Brett Johnson were the only triallists as the Bees went down 2-0 to Ipswich Town at Griffin Park on Friday night.

There were a few unfamiliar names for Brentford fans, however, in the shape of youth teamers Luke Ruddick, Frazer Franks and George Davis, who all got a second-half run-out.

There were also first appearances in Bees shirts for summer signings Charlie MacDonald, Adam Newton, Marcus Bean, Marvin Williams, Leigh Mills, Moses Ademola and Sam Wood.

Brentford continue ther pre-season programme at Bromley tomorrow (Tuesday) night.
