Jose Mourinho has urged his Chelsea side to kill teams off by making the most of the many chances they are creating in games.

The Blues were fortunate to scrape a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in yesterday's London derby at Stanford Bridge, despite creating enough opportunities to make the game safe.

And with a top two clash against the league leaders coming up next, Mourinho knows an Arsenal side smarting from their 6-3 defeat hammering at Manchester City won't allow to get away with being so wasteful in front of goal.

He said: “We keep creating lots of chances. We get in great positions but are not killing games. The result of this game could have been 5-1 or could have been 2-2.

“We have to kill matches in our good moments, because in the bad moments we panic a little bit and you could feel the atmosphere. We are a little bit panicky, we have to kill matches. On a day when every chance is a goal we will win six or seven nil because we create a lot of chances

“To get points in this competition is hard, everybody is giving a fight. Palace gave that, they survive when we should kill the game. They give a fight but we got the points, and are there where we want to be.”
