Lasse Vibe doesn't want the win over Millwall to take the pressure off Brentford – the Bees striker instead wants to keep the heat firmly on.
Saturday's success was a first home league win of the season for the men from TW8 and only a second league triumph of the season.
You could almost sense the relief around Griffin Park at the final whistle, but as far as Vibe is concerned the league table shows that any respite should only be temporary.
“We're still down there so we still need to keep that pressure on ourselves,” he said. “Obviously we're not happy with where we are so we need to keep that pressure on.
“We need to get some more wins, we know that. We've got great potential, but we can't keep saying that – we have to prove it by getting some points on the board.
“Today (Saturday) that was all that mattered. They (Millwall) launched the ball in there and I lost count the amount of times we headed it away. It could have gone either way, but if I had taken one of the chances we'd have won more comfortably.”
Keeper Dan Bentley agrees, saying the Bees players have always had faith in themselves during a difficult start to the season – but they must now build on the Millwall win.
“We always knew it would come,” he added. “We always believe in ourselves and each other – that filters down from top top to bottom, so I don't think there was ever any doubt that it would come.
“However, we've had to make sure we've been resilient and stuck with it because heads could easily have dropped with the amount of results which haven't come our way.
“We now want to use that win as a momentum builder, and if we can use it next week against Sunderland we will obviously do so.”
