Jose Mourinho accused Big Sam of '19 century football' as the Hammers held Chelsea to a 0-0 draw.

The Chelsea boss was unimpressed with West Ham's 'park the bus' strategy and said it made a travesty of the Premier League's qualities.

“He can't take it can he,” Hammers boss Allardyce laughed afterwards. “Poor old Jose.”

“I just told the boys it's very difficult to play a football match where only one team wants to play,” Mourinho said.

“ A football match is about two teams playing and this match was only one team playing and another not playing.

“I told Sam and I repeat my words, that they need points and because they need points to come here the way they did, is it acceptable? Maybe yes.

“I cannot make too much grief because I was in this position. I don't know if I would do the same. Maybe, so I don't want to criticise that.

“But at the same time, I said also this is not Premier League. This is not the best league in the world – this is football from the 19 century.

“His objective was to come here and take a point – it was not to come here and play good football. It was not to come here and try to win and not to come here and feel part of the quality of the Premier League.”

Mourinho, who complained of time wasting and also accused West Ham of feigning injuries added: “With my players, I'm happy. Especially the second half was phenomenal.

"Their goalkeeper saved a lot but there was also other players without gloves who saved a lot.

“They played with five defenders. They have more goalkeepers than defenders – they tackle, they slide, they gave everything, so my respect to their spirit and too their effort, but my team tried everything.

“They tried, they played, they created, so I cannot complain with my people and I am nobody to criticise what they did."
