Lewis Holtby has issued a rallying cry to his new Fulham team-mates ahead of 13 cup finals which will decide their Premier League fate.

Darren Bent struck deep into stoppage-time at Manchester United on Sunday to earn the Whites an unlikely point in their battle to beat the drop.

Holtby is a new face at the Cottage, having joined from Tottenham on a loan deal until the end of the campaign, but already feels at home in his new suroundings.

Unlike his new Fulham pals, Holtby's Premier League future is secured as he still has a contract to go back to at White Hart Lane with Spurs.

But that's not on the German's mind right now.

Instead, he's focussed on building on results like the Manchester United draw in the Whites' final 13 matches as they look to pull away from the bottom the table.

Late leveller: Darren Bent stoops to head Fulham's equaliser

“Down there where we are now, we told ourselves we have 14 cup finals,” Holtby said.

“It looked very scrappy but if you come to Manchester United on a pitch like that, you have to be in a defensive shape. We got some counter attacks, nearly scored a second one.

"It was a hell of a team performance, we shifted a lot of grass, we were there in the deep, we fought so hard to get this point. It think it will give is the confidence for the next couple of games.

“Definitely [I think we can survive]. We said it to ourselves we have 14 cup finals, we have to believe in it. If we give up we are in the wrong game.

"We want to stay in the Premier Leauge and if we play against teams like Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham - whatever.

“They are going to be hard games, especially away and that is when you have to have a defensive shape. When you play against the other teams down at the bottom like we are then it is a different game."

Holtby certainly showed he was up for the fight in Manchester and laid on the opening goal of the game for Steve Sidwell, insisting he is prepared to go the extra-mile during his stay in west London.

“Yeah, absolutely that is why I came here,” he added.

“I wanted to show everything for these colours. I want to give all the trust back, everything that they gave me and I'm delighted it can help the team.

"Again, credit to the team and everyone who did superb, defended really well to get that confidence.”
