Middlesex County Football League

SUDBURY based LPOSSA have adapted brilliantly to life in Premier Division of the Middlesex County Football League following promotion from Division One (West).

The posties sit proudly in second following four wins out of four, their latest triumph a 3-1 win over Kensington Dragons on Saturday, with goals from M Gibbs-Greenidge, Christain Tunstall and J Girt, with Michael Meremikwu replying for Dragons.

They have two games in hands on leaders and near neighbours Broadfields United , from Harrow, who won 4-1 at third placed Hillingdon on Saturday (N Barrs 3, H Henley) but went down to a shock 5-2 home defeat against Singh Sabha Slough (O Leslie, G Pascoulis) on Wednesday night.

Hillingdon, for whom Frank Altamore bagged their consolation against Broadfields, recovered to win 1-0 at Northolt's FC Assyria on Wednesday night. They are level on points with the top two, and have played one game less than Broadfields but one more than LPOSSA.

Assyria had won 3-1 at Kilburn on Saturday, with goals from Danny Isaac, Adam Jaso and Graham Warner, while AFC Hayes Reserves lost 6-0 at Tooting & Mitcham Wanderers.

One point behind the joint leaders in fourth place are British Airways , who won their Hounslow derby against Deportivo Galicia 6-3 on Wednesday night.

The highlight was a brilliant 35 yard lob over the keeper from former Slough Town midfielder Chris Fermie, while Jeff Kalejaiye and Wayne Harvey were also on the mark for BA.

This followed a 2-2 draw at Interwood on Saturday in which Kalejaiye netted, along with Kevin Chakaodza, while Deportivo went down 2-1 at home to Cricklewood Wanderers, despite a Jose Gonzalez Gomez strike.

On Tuesday night, goals from Jon Abraham, Parminder Kang Sukhwinder Liddar bagged a first three points of the season for Indian Gymkhana with a 3-0 win over CB Hounslow United Reserves , who also went down by the only goal of the game at Singh Sabha Slough on Saturday.
