MARCIANO Mengerink hopes the goals will continue to flow after getting off the mark for Barnet at Aldershot last night.

The Dutch striker came off the bench to devastating effect and scored the Bees’ second goal as they came back from 3-1 down to claim a thrilling 3-3 draw.

It was the first Mengerink’s first goal for the club since making the move from SDV Barneveld in the summer and the 25-year-old felt a weight lifted off his shoulders.

He said: “I was really happy that I could get my first goal for Barnet. I’m very pleased. Hopefully, we will see the start of more goals.

“Mr Davids said in the dressing room that ‘is it good that we bounced back or bad that we showed two different sides of us?’

“The way we played second-half, he said that had we done that in the first half, we would have come away with an easy win.

“We could have got more than a draw, but the way we bounced back was great.”

Last night’s goalscoring cameo in Hampshire was Mengerink’s seventh appearance for Barnet this season.
