Marinus Dijkhuizen lasted just 120 days as Brentford manager and plenty happened on and off the field during his short time at the helm.

It is the shortest reign of any permanent appointment made by the club in their history, breaking Eddie May's record of 20 games.

Nicky Forster, who was in caretaker charge in 2011 got more games in charge.

Marinus Dijkhuizen's Brentford record

He leaves with the Bees placed 19th in the Championship table after a disappointing start which saw last season's play-off contenders win just two of their opening eight league fixtures.

Former Everton midfielder Lee Carsley, who has been working as Brentford's development squad manager, has been promoted to the top job until the end of the season.

Here's a look back at Dijkhuizen's whirlwind few months at Griffin Park, from his appointment right through to today's announcement of his departure.
