Fulham manager Felix Magath is having a look at midfielder Mahamadou Diarra.

The former Real Madrid star hasn’t featured for the Cottagers since December 2012 due to a serious knee injury.

Diarra’s contract expired last summer, but he was training at Motspur Park in a bid to prove his fitness, only to be bombed out by former boss Rene Meulensteen.

However, the 32-year-old has resumed full sessions with the Fulham first team after Magath took charge a fortnight ago.

The German chief has turned to the club's old heads as he bids to steep them to safety, with Brede Hangeland and Scott Parker having been restored to the side.

And Diarra is hoping to do enough to earn a new short-term deal with the Premier League strugglers for the final few months of the campaign.
