JAMIE Mackie is determined to kill QPR's TV curse at Coventry tomorrow. The box-to-box midfielder admits the Championship leaders are aware of their blips on the other type of box in front of millions this season.

A barely scraped draw against then bottom Bristol City and the loss of their unbeaten record to Watford at home have made painful watching for fans.

And boss Neil Warnock is already wary of live coverage from the Ricoh Arena just after high noon.

But after his midfielder broke his 15-game duck in the 4-0 win over Swansea on Boxing Day, Mackie reckons Hoops are ready to go on another run.

He said: “We haven’t been the best on TV – and we need to change that around. That said, you’re on TV whether it’s highlights or live every week – and personally it doesn’t bother me.

“If we’re on our game then we’ll be a force at Coventry. If three or four of us are not, then it’s going to be a long old afternoon.”

Mackie’s goal against the Swans made the rest of the afternoon a holiday hangover for the Welsh – and it also brought a fair bit of relief to the player himself.

He said: “It’s been too long, really. But I don’t think my game has changed. The manager said I’m keeping you in the team because you’re playing well.

“From the position I am on the right – I don’t think I’m going to score every game. If you had told me I’d have nine goals by December 26 th – I’d have bitten your hand off. Hopefully, another nine by the end would be a decent return.”

Warnock will almost certainly keep faith with the same side that started against Swansea after appealing defender Clint Hill’s red card, with long-term injured Akos Buzsaky Peter Ramage missing out.
