Brentford have had a reported £15,000 bid rejected for Southend's transfer-listed striker Charlie MacDonald.
Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson insists he won't let the 27-year-old leave on the cheap, despite falling out of favour at Roots Hall.
"Brentford have come in with an offer for Charlie but it isn't near what we want for him," said Tilson.
"He may be on the transfer list but the deal has to be right and we won't be selling him for what they have offered."
MacDonald made 34 appearances last season, scoring five goals.
