There is a real battle of the heavyweights in store when AFC Wimbledon head to Luton Town tomorrow.

Dons striker Adebayo Akinfenwa will be hoping to get off the mark for his new club but the powerhouse forward at 5ft 11ins and 13st 7lbs may meet his match at Kenilworth Road.

So reckons the Luton Post's Mike Simmonds who says Hatters defender Steve McNulty.

The centre back is of similar build to Akinfenwa, coming in at 6ft 1ins tall and weighing 13st 12lbs.

"It's going to be a very interesting battle," said Simmonds. "He was one of the most consistent performers last season and was an ever present as they won the Conference Premier title."

Another player that Neal Ardley's side will have to keep a close eye on is striker Mark Cullen, who scored Luton's winner in the opening day victory at Carlisle.

In form: Mark Cullen

The striker has Premier League experience with Hull City and is already roaring into action according to Simmonds.

"He has been absolutely prolific in pre-season and is now continuing that form," he said. He has really started to find his feet."

The third player Simmonds has identified has yet to really get going for Luton since arriving this summer.

Andy Drury is in his second spell with the Hatters having re-joined from Crawley Town for £100,000.

Returning: Andy Drury

"We've certainly not seen the best of him but he's only just come back to the club," said Simmonds.

"But he plays in the centre of midfield and they will be hoping to get him on the ball and he will get it on the deck and hopefully make things happen."
