DAVID Luiz says Chelsea can complete a great week by beating West Ham in Sunday's London derby at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues came back from 2-0 down at Old Trafford to earn an FA Cup replay against Manchester United, and also came back from the brink against Steaua Bucharest to set up a last-eight Europa League tie against Rubin Kazan of Russia.

Now Chelsea turn their eye to probably the most important matter of the week: getting three points in the race for Champions League qualification.

Luiz said: “I want to keep on this week with a great result. Sunday – a difficult game against West Ham. But playing at home, you need to win.”

The Brazilian said he never feared Chelsea would go out of either cup competition this week, because he could see in his team mates' eyes that they were not beaten.

“At half time (against Steaua) I could look in the eyes of my players,” he said, “and I can see my players can score more goals and can win this game. We showed that in the second half.

“When you play big games, you need to play with the heart. You need to take the opportunities to play in big games. There aren't many players in the world who have the opportunity to play for Chelsea against Manchester United away.

“The first half there was difficult – in the first ten minutes the guys scored two goals. It could have killed the game a little bit, to be 2-0 down in 10 minutes.

“But we showed in the second half that we have a lot of quality. In the second half we controlled Man United at Old Trafford, so this shows the potential of the players that play for Chelsea.”
