QPR have agreed the loan signing of Liam Miller from Sunderland but have failed with a bid to land Reading striker Leroy Lita.

Miller trained with Rangers on Thursday after agreeing to join the club untilo the end of the season, when the midfielder's Sunderland contract is due to expire and he will be available on a Bosman free transfer.

He is expected to make his Rs debut at Derby on Saturday.

But Rangers' search for a striker continues after Lita rejected a move to Loftus Road.

An approach was made to Reading but Lita, who snubbed a transfer to Sheffield United, made it clear he wanted to stay at the Madejski Stadium.

The former England U21 is keen to secure a move to a Premier League club either this month or at the end of the season.

Rangers also made an unsuccessful attempt to land Man United's teenage striker Danny Wellbeck. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was not willing to allow the highly-rated 19-year-old to go out on loan.
