Leicester City 2 Chelsea 1

Leicester City's men of the moment, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez, combined to consign Chelsea to a ninth Premier League defeat of the season at the King Power Stadium tonight.

Before the match, Vardy was presented with a silver plate to commemorate him recently breaking the record for scoring in consecutive Premier League matches, while those in attendance were themselves presented with limited edition packets of Walkers 'Vardy Salted' crisps.

Somewhat inevitably, it was Vardy who opened the scoring with a crisp finish on 33 minutes, sweeping the ball home after Leonardo Ulloa has played the ball out to the right for Mahrez to centre for his strike partner.

This came just minute after Vardy has provided the game with some crunch too, putting Eden Hazard out of the game with a foul near the centre circle. Hazard tried to carry on but pulled up within seconds and was replaced.

Touchline rivals: Ranieri and Mourinho

Chelsea came within inches of equalising when Nemanja Matic's header from a corner came back of the bar, but three minutes after the break Leicester doubled their lead when Mahrez bamboozled

Cesar Azpilicueta with a couple of twists and turns on the edge of the area before curling home a beauty over Thibaut Courtois and into the far corner.

Suddenly there was some urgency about Chelsea, and only a last-ditch tackle by former Blue Robert Huth kept out Pedro, whole Kasper Schmeichel saves superbly from Diego Costa with the Chelsea striker clean through.

Sub Loic Remy gave Chelsea hope when he pulled one back with 13 minuted remaining with a point blank header from Pedro's inch perfect cross, but Leicester held on to go back to the top of the Premier League.
