HARROW Borough’s Danny Leech hopes his third dismissal of the season does not signal the end of his campaign.

Leech was given his marching orders in the derby defeat by Wealdstone and will now face a lengthy ban once the suspension kicks in.

The stalwart defender felt the dismissal for a challenge on Lee Chappell early in the second half was harsh

And with boss David Howell on the lookout for defensive reinforcements following three successive defeats, Borough’s player of the month for January and a strong candidate for player of the season, hopes he still has a part to play in Harrows playoff tilt.

He said: "I would like to think Wayne [Walters] and I have a good partnership at the back and I could get back in the side.

"The red card was just one bad decision that went against me so hopefully I can force my way back into the team after suspension."

With bans not kicking in for 14 days, the 26-year-old is available for Saturday’s clash away to Carshalton.

Leech says it is not the time to lose faith in their play-off bid despite the form slump, but they need to stop the rot at Colston Avenue.

He added: "We have still got enough games to put another run together and make the playoffs but we must turn this run of defeats around quickly, starting on Saturday."
