FORMER fans' favourite Lee Clark has dismissed rumours he is about to become the next manager of Fulham .

Speculation surfaced this week that the Huddersfield Town boss was being lined up to replace Roy Hodgson at Craven Cottage .

However, Clark, who spent six years in SW6 as a player, insists he hasn't spoken to anyone from the club.

He said: "Most of the time I don't comment on speculation, but there has been absolutely no contact from Fulham and I don't want people to become unsettled."

Clark's odds for the post have been slashed to 5/2 by William Hill, who rank him joint-second favourite for the job behind Alan Curbishley .

Other names in the frame include Mark Hughes, Sven Goran Eriksson and Slaven Bilic.
