FRANK Lampard says Chelsea will not let fixture congestion put them off their quest for silverware and second place in the Premier League.

The Blues are about to enter a frenzied period in what is set to be their longest ever season – with a run of six games in 16 days – and their 200-goal man says he is relishing the run.

“We’ll cope,” said Lampard, who is just two goals away from equalling Bobby Tambling’s all-time Chelsea scoring record. “We’re professionals. I certainly feel better playing games regularly. As long as we rest, train and look after ourselves in between, we’ll cope.

“We have a big squad, the manager will rotate as he sees fit. We have to concentrate on everything because this is the business end of the season and we have to make sure we win something and get Champions League football for next year.”

After the international break, Chelsea are back in Premier League action next Saturday with a trip to Southampton, followed by the FA Cup quarter-final replay with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge two days later.

They then welcome Rubin Kazan three days later in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final, before Sunderland come south for a Premier League clash three days after that.

The Blues then travel to Russia for the second leg with Rubin and finally the sixth game in a little over two weeks is the Premier League derby with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard says the focus remains the Premier League and that Manchester City, in second place, can be caught.
