Chelsea fans have expressed their fears over Jose Mourinho’s imminent appointment as Manchester United manager.

Louis van Gaal was sacked by the Red Devils just days after delivering the club’s first trophy since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure as United lifted the FA Cup at Wembley.

That triumph wasn’t enough to save him though as missing out on the Premier League’s top four and a place in the Champions League pushed patience too far at Old Trafford.

Former Blues manager Mourinho is set to finalise a move to Manchester on Tuesday after holding talks with senior officials to rubber stamp a three-year contract.

Mourinho was given the boot by Chelsea in late December after leading the club to their worst ever start to a Premier League season under Roman Abramovich’s rule.

Despite that appalling end, fans of the west London club have not forgotten the Special One’s contributions as he became their most successful manager in two spells as boss.

His departure left supporters shell shocked at Stamford Bridge and the prospect of facing the Portuguese in fixtures next season is too much for some fans to bear.

One fan claimed the appointment was like 'being kicked repeatedly between the legs' while others suggested they weren't bothered by his new job.
