Jonathan Douglas is on the verge of agreeing a new deal at Brentford.

The 33-year-old has been an almost ever present this season, scoring five goals in 27 games for the west Londoners.

Douglas' contract at Griffin Park is due to expire in the summer and he has been in negotiations with the club over a new deal since the beginning of the campaign.

The midfielder rejected Brentford's initial offer back in October, but is now set to sign fresh terms to keep him in TW8.

Douglas has scored 14 goals in 168 appearances for the Bees since his arrival from Swindon Town in 2009.

The Irishman will be hoping Brentford can get their promotion push back on track when they visit his former club Leeds United on Saturday.
