Andy Johnson insists he's 100 per cent committed to QPR despite a failed deadline-day move to Crystal Palace.

The former Everton frontman was on the verge of returning to Selhurst Park in the final few hours of the transfer window, only for the deal to fall through at the last minute.

Palace claim Rangers moved the goalposts, but QPR insist they pulled the plug after failing to bring in a replacement.

But 32-year-old Johnson, who was offered a long-term deal with the Premier League new-boys, has moved to pledge himself to Loftus Road.

"It was a bit of a whirlwind last night, but I'm really pleased to still be a QPR player," he said.

"The interest from Palace was flattering, but I never once asked for a transfer and like I said a few weeks back, I owe it to QPR - who stood by me when I was injured last season - to stay and help get this club back to the Premier League.

"I am 100% committed to QPR and will continue to give my all to help us build on what has been a promising start to the season."
