John Terry said an emotional goodbye to outgoing Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

The Special One was sacked by the Blues on Thursday after the club’s demise from Premier League champions to relegation battlers this season.

Defeat to surprise leaders Leicester on Monday night was Chelsea’s ninth of the domestic campaign and proved the final straw for owner Roman Abramovich.

Guus Hiddink is now being lined up by the Russian as interim boss until the end of the season but is not expected to be in the dugout for the visit of Sunderland tomorrow.

Terry, who has skippered the Blues during both of Mourinho’s stints at Stamford Bridge, has taken to social media to express his sorrow for the departure of his manager.

He posted: "Thank You doesn't seem enough. Sad sad day. Gonna miss you Boss.

"The Very Best I have EVER worked with, unbelievable memories together #boss #friend #specialone #bestever"

Terry has endured a difficult season this term, despite playing every minute of every game in Chelsea's title triumph, and is out of contract in the summer.

He was hooked at half-time during Chelsea’s loss to Manchester City at the start of the campaign and was hooked again at Leicester this week.

However, it seems the captain still has plenty of affection for his beloved boss and is sad to see him leave in such circumstances.
