John Terry has hit back at Arsenal's 'boring, boring Chelsea' jibes, insisting possession and pretty football don't win trophies – points do.

Terry, who was caught on camera emphatically telling The Emirates home support on full time exactly what he thought of their taunts, says that to be English champions a team needs to have more than just Tiki-taka.

Chelsea fought out a 0-0 draw at The Emirates, making Stamford Bridge the almost inevitable destination of this year's Premier League trophy.

But those Arsenal fans who had not already headed for the tube station, gave their own critical response to the result – as the Blues support partied.

Terry said of the 'boring, boring Chelsea' chants: “Yes [I heard them] after the whistle of course.

“We are definitely not boring. If we do go on to win it, no-one is going to remember the performances where we may not have been as exciting.

“We have dug deep and that's what other teams haven't done. It is why they're the points they are behind us.

“Possession is great, we saw that in the Manchester United game last week. Possession and Tiki-taka football is great but if you're not winning games, you're not going to win the League.

“Let's not forget that up until Christmas we were the best side by far. Some of the football we played, with [Cesc] Fabregas and his assists, like the goal at Burnley and ones after that, the play was different class.

“Teams were worried then about playing against us.

“The manager being the way he is came up with a way to get us through games and that's where he is at his best.

“But let's not forget we were the best side up until Christmas for sure. We have had to dig deep because teams have made it difficult for us.”

Chelsea now require just six points from their five remaining games to win the title.
