John Swift was pleased to return to the Brentford starting line-up at Hull after returning from injury.

The England youth international suffered an Achilles injury while on duty with the Three Lions which forced him out for three weeks.

He returned to the bench on Saturday at MK Dons and started in the 2-0 loss at the KC Stadium, although he was noticeably off the pace.

Swift said: “It's good to be back. It's just disappointing that we couldn't get the three points.

“It was quite a bad (gash in the Achilles). I just had to sit around for three weeks and let it heal.

“The stitches were left in for longer than normal. It was frustrating being out for three weeks doing nothing.”

The Bees have a chance to bounce back from the defeat on Saturday when they host west London rivals Fulham and Swift knows the fans demand nothing less than a win.

He added: “It's more for the fans. It's our last home game of the season and it'll be packed out.

“If every player gives 100 per cent and goes into the game looking to win and do it for the fans, we'll come out with the win.

“Both teams are going out to win and nobody is going to sit back and take a draw. It'll be great for the fans to watch and the players to play in.”

Victory could help cement Brentford's place in the top 10 and Swift knows how big an achievement that would be.

He added: “I think it'll be massive. Every player wants to be in the top 10 and we're aiming for that hurdle. Everyone has got to give everything they can and the wins will come.”
