Fulham have recalled Jack Grimmer from his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town.

The 20-year-old has featured seven times for the League Two side and impressed in the narrow Capital One Cup defeat against Chelsea.

But with Tim Hoogland and Fernando Amorebieta injured, and Dan Burn suspended, Fulham boss Kit Symons is short of options in defence for Saturday's trip to Brighton.

Grimmer, who can play at right-back or centre-half, was due to remain with the Shrews until the new year.

However, the Cottagers have triggered a recall clause to bring the Scotland U21 star back to west London.
