BRANISLAV Ivanovic says it was a 'great feeling' helping Chelsea to Europa League glory following his Munich heartache.

A year on from missing their Champions League triumph through suspension, the Serbian defender's injury-time header earned the Blues a 2-1 win against Benfica at the Amsterdam Arena after Oscar Cardozo had cancelled out Fernandos Torres' opener.

"It's a great feeling,” said Ivanovic afterwards.

“This team deserved this, because we have had a very difficult season and a lot of games.

“In the end, today was a very hard game and Benfica played very well.

“But we scored from set pieces and work very hard preparing that part of our game. We deserve that trophy."

Torres, who had given the Blues a 59th-minute lead, added: "I am very happy. It was a very tough game, and Benfica were much better in the first half. The first half was not good enough at all.

“We really wanted to win this Europe League, and maybe this was going to be our only chance."
