BRANISLAV Ivanovic says his Europa League winning goal was among the greatest moments in his footballing life.

The big Serbian seemed to hang in mid-air for an eternity, as fans watched him head Juan Mata's corner into the goal at their end of the Amsterdam ArenA on Wednesday night.

The Blues defender said: “It's a great feeling – maybe one of the best moments in my career.

“To score in the last minute a winning goal - even in a normal game you are very happy. But with a big final, a European final, I'm still not able to comprehend.

“I think the last couple of years with Chelsea it's always drama! This is interesting.”

He said Chelsea were just glad to still be in contention after a first half in which, but for poor finishing, opponents Benfica could have finished the tie.

“Benfica played very well in the first half, we were happy to be 0-0.

“When we scored the first one I think we were back in the game, and our confidence was high. We tried to push, but it was physically a very difficult game.”
