ADEL Taarabt is being tracked by AC Milan – who are ready to make a cut-price £3million bid for the QPR midfielder if Hoops are relegated.

The Italian giants have earmarked the Moroccan as a summer target. But only if they can get him relatively cheaply with Rangers anticipating a number of stars leaving if they are forced to play in the Championship next season.

Monday’s gutting 3-2 defeat to neighbours Fulham has left the Rs down but not out, although they have only seven games left to make up a seven-point deficit plus goal difference if they are to escape the Premier League’s basement.

Taarabt, who scored a stunning drive against Fulham to ramp up a breathtaking second half, was earmarked last week by an Italian sports daily as one of 100 players world wide expected to grace Serie A next season, although a three-year deal signed only last summer would see Rangers ready to hard bargain over any transfer.

However, the midfielder’s mixed form since the end of February has seen him in and out of the team that's only served to only increase interest back in Milan.
